Biblo.tv’s story began a long long time ago, in the year 2010. Back then, advertising agencies still briefed musicians in person, if you can believe that! At those meetings, Markus would try pedal Biblo.tv CDs to creatives and producers as a side hustle. The CD featured music from other bedroom producers. The idea was to get some money to his friends while cementing his reputation as a one-stop shop for everything music.

Markus Wormstrom expands the bedroom boundary

Markus Wormstorm is a known composer / bedroom producer who has won several major awards, including ASIFA-Hollywood’s Annie Award, the Annecy Special Distinction Award, and the SAFTA Award for Best Original Score. Biblo began as his side hustle but over the years has grown into a complimentary force in his creative output, allowing him to score films, games, commercials and series with unparalleled efficiency.

The first incarnation of the site launched in 2012. It used a humble search engine, with a unique design that led clients to unknown artists and let them license their music with a click of a button.

By 2015, Biblo had grown into a network of more than a hundred artists from across Africa and beyond. This site was slicker , featured voice artists and could handle more downloads.

Original Biblo.tv site Biblo got a new look in 2015 - with the help of design legend Si Maclennan and dev house Codeswop.

Biblo.tv began to function as a record label putting out compilation albums or record. These limited run compilations are in high demand, featuring the hottest musical talent from Cape Town, New York and across Africa.

Over the years, Biblo went from strength to strength and was voted one of the top music houses in South Africa in 2019, boosted by Biblo artist Grant Sissons’s win that year.

In 2025 Biblo teamed up with Malvah.co and Codeswop to launch the latest version of the platform. The new interface makes it easy to share playlists, and the AI-driven search takes you straight to the track you need.

Biblo.tv now features 10 000 hours of music and we have stems for all of it. Click on any playlist below to test-drive the new Biblo.tv.
